There is no question of doubt that the ghd Nocturne shoot back in October was nothing short of awesome! Not only because the event crammed so much into a twelve-hour window, but also because we got to work alongside some of the industry’s most talented individuals for a non-stop night of action.
Located at London’s Crossrail Place Roof Gardens in Canary Wharf, we got to work setting ‘the stage’ for a night under the stars with styling stations, AV, lighting and live feeds for our film crew. Soon after, we were joined by the ten stylists who were set the task of creating ten looks on each of their models. These included session stylist Leighanne Regan, salon owner Sophie Laidlaw, F.A.M.E. Team member Jordanna Cobella, IT Guy finalist Jamie Benny, Headmasters Art Team member Chris Southern and Newcomer of the Year finalist Frazer Wallace. They were joined by Australian Hairdresser of the Year finalist, Uros Mikic, ghd’s Italian artistic director Igor Rago, German stylist Dashi Rasnici and Spanish stylist Jorge DeSancho.
Creating multiple sets around Canary Wharf’s Rooftop Garden, and later onto some of London’s most elite penthouses, was Fashion Photographer Jack Eames and his team. They got to work on capturing over one-hundred final images. What initially seemed like a Herculean task turned out to be perfect showcase for the ghd Nocturne range. Which is ‘all about producing beautiful hair that blurs the boundaries between night and day’. Working together, the ten stylists and Jack Eames created a series of stunning looks. This conveyed the story of girls working their night-time looks from party to afterparty and beyond.
Making sure that all the action was captured, our team worked throughout the night filming. Viewing figures erupted when we live streamed with presenter Dafydd Thomas and all of the event artists. The one thing that is for certain, is that ghd know ‘How to Event’. The long days of preparation, endless meetings and a hardworking team, resulted in the first shoot of it’s kind and a set of images that any brand would be proud of.
