Last year, we had the pleasure of working with the extremely talented production of Rip It Up. Starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Natalie Lowe and two previous celebrity champions; The Wanted’s, Jay McGuiness, and British Gymnast, Louis Smith – the performance was bound to be a success. The show saw the performers swing, bop, jitterbug, lindy hop, jive and ballroom to the sounds of the 1950s with Show Director and Choreographer, Gareth Walker making sure the cast of dancers didn’t miss a step.
Brought on during the early stages of the project by The TCB Group, we were commissioned to create the screen content that would later support the stage production when it went on tour around the UK. After our creative team had collaborated on the concept, we got to work filming the cast for each of the stage scenes. Working their way through an elaborate vintage wardrobe, we filmed the cast on green screen and later in one of the dance studios. The footage was then taken into our editing suite to create stunning retro-themed videos, from a Sinatra-inspired Vegas section to an Elvis-infused Jailhouse Rock scene.
Show Director, Gareth Walker said “The success of so many stage productions is the culmination of a few key elements coming together perfectly. You need great music, talented performers, dramatic lighting and finally screen content to help bring the show alive. I’ve been working with the CS Media team for over 10 years now on a large variety of productions, and I honestly wouldn’t think of using anyone else. With each project, they always manage to surprise me with what they create, and have once again played a pivotal role in the success of this sell-out tour. I can’t thank the team enough for their efforts and I am extremely excited to get started on our next project together.”
